Today marks the official launch of a health campaign jointly organized by the Mama Zahra Foundation and Banadir Hospital, aimed at treating women suffering from childbirth-related injuries known as Obstetric Fistula.

This center, the first of its kind to be established in the country, will permanently provide treatment services and training related to Obstetric Fistula. The training is being conducted by visiting international doctors, while the director of the center, Dr. Muno, is leading the implementation of the program.

This health campaign will benefit 30 women, who will receive free surgical care to restore their health and livelihood. This program is a collaboration between the Mama Zahra Foundation and Banadir Hospital, with the goal of offering high-quality, free healthcare to women suffering from this condition.

The General Secretary of the Banadir Regional Administration, Mrs. Bilan Bile Mahamud, stated: “We pray to Almighty God to grant all the women benefiting from this health campaign complete health and a speedy recovery. Furthermore, we commend the efforts of the Mama Zahra Foundation and Banadir Hospital in improving Somali maternal health and caring for women with childbirth injuries.”

These reconstructive surgeries for women suffering from childbirth injuries were performed by foreign specialists alongside the Director of Banadir Hospital, Dr. Muno Hussein Hassan, a doctor specialized in these procedures. This demonstrates her dedication to mastering a field of medicine that is crucial for our country.
